Green Product Council Indonesia, Driving Net Zero Emissions by 2060

The Green Product Council Indonesia (GPCI), a non-profit organization, was founded by seven professionals and 20 corporate founders concerned about the environment. Its organizational vision is to encourage industries to produce environmentally friendly products that meet certification assessment standards under the Green Label Indonesia (GLI) program.

GPCI held its 8-niversary Gathering with the theme “Transforming the Benefits of Green Label into Circular Economy.” This theme was chosen to promote the transformation of the benefits of Green Label Indonesia certification into circular economy practices, creating a sustainable model for product and resource management.

GPCI also invited speakers from certified GLI industries to provide education and the latest insights on how corporate commitments and implemented production patterns can support the goal of net zero emissions by 2060.

GLI certification involves a tiered selection process that producers or industries must achieve, starting with the minimum level of bronze, followed by silver and gold categories. At the event's climax, GPCI introduced the newest achievement level, the PLATINUM category, which represents the highest level in the GLI certification.

GPCI continues to develop certification assessment standards that not only focus on building material product categories but have now expanded to include various product categories such as electronics, packaging, essential oils, and vertical transportation equipment.

Awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly production among Indonesian producers continues to grow, positively impacting environmental sustainability towards achieving net zero emissions by 2060. This is evident as GPCI has developed certification criteria for 30 types of products, with a total of 530 products already certified under GLI.
