The 2024 Taiwan Circular Economy Week marks its sixth year, showcasing public-private collaboration and cross-ministerial efforts to promote a circular economy. Five ministries‒Economics Affairs, Environment, Agriculture, Interior, and Public Works‒have joined forces to launch events from September to November under the theme “Dual-Axis Circularity for a Resilient Taiwan.” These events will emphasize green innovation and digital empowerment, aiming to transition Taiwan to zero waste and net-zero emissions.
Highlights include corporate showcases, such as Taiwan CPC’s “Sea Peony” skincare line made from LNG-derived algae, and Yesiang Enterprise’s recyclable chemical filters. The series will also feature exhibitions, workshops, and forums, focusing on sustainable practices and technologies in industries such as energy, textiles, and construction.
The Ministry of Economics Affairs emphasized that this dual-axis transformation is key to Taiwan’s industrial resilience and global competitiveness. Circular economy policies will help industries achieve sustainable development and reach Taiwan’s net-zero goals by 2050.
